Leaves are falling, grey skies and darker days..

Summer loving is my second name, so time for a sunny autumn getaway :D!

Last week we took a flight to Malaga, to rediscover the beaches and beautiful places in this area. Our friends live in Fuengirola, a small beach town with good beaches and lots of tourists in summer. Fall is perfect here since the beaches are more quiet, the weather is still sunny and warm and you can enjoy the good food, wines and vacay life.

Mijas Pueblo is a cool, authentic, little white mountain village in the area. The view is amazing, as you have an open view all the way to the coastline and sea. They even have an original bull fights arena that you can visit and we enjoyed the most delicious mandarins here (yummy).

Our Spanish friend took us to El Pimpi in Malaga - make sure to try the typical sweet Spanish wine called Vino Dulce de Malaga, which is ordered by the bottle by locals. The city is amazing by night..ohh the Spanish!

In Fuengirola Casa Colon has the perfectly grilled tuna. The place is packed every night and since they don't take reservations it is hard to find a spot at prime time (9-11 in the evening). Consider to go early (between 6-8 P.M.).

For some dancing, Lola's has a nice view and good Spanish/ Caribbean music. Try the Spanish and Caribbean rums and enjoy the night!

If you like it a bit more fancy, than go and visit the old town of Marbella. This is the perfect place to wander and enjoy the little streets and to wear your best outfit. The freshly made Sangria on the sunny terrace was a real treat.

Beach life is my kind of life. We discovered a really cool beach bar called la Cubana, which was closed for fall/winter season. We heard that this is the place to be in summer to enjoy good cocktails and even a beach party with good beats.

Martin Playa is at a good beach spot, with beach chairs for EUR 5 each. Good coffee, local food and don't forget to drink an ice cold Tinto di Verano while enjoying the sun! The grilled sardines with sea salt are delicious.

For breakfast and lunch Granier bakery has freshly made breads, sweets, coffee and smoothies. Takeaway and eat on the beach, or grab a chair on the terrace.
